Steven Middleton is a mass media senior college instructor, documentary filmmaker, media consultant, Appalachian historian, and musician.

Steven has taught as a faculty member and created and led the social media minor in Media Production & Journalism at Morehead State University since 2008. Steven has produced nineteen documentary films dealing with Appalachian and Kentucky culture.  Standouts include “Commonwealth Curiosities Volume 1”, and “Volume 2”, “Between The Rock and the Commonwealth”,“Stages and Waves: An Excursion Through Challenging Times”, and “From The Cowboy’s Boot Heel: The Musical Journey of Rob McNurlin”. Projects have be shown, aired, and featured on 4 PBS affiliates, and film festivals across the globe.
