Steven Middleton is a mass media senior college instructor, documentary filmmaker, TV host, media consultant, Appalachian historian, musician, and member of the folk/string band The New Beckham County Ramblers.

Steven has taught as a faculty member and created and led the social media minor in Media Production & Journalism at Morehead State University since 2008. Steven has produced nineteen (19) documentary films dealing with Appalachian and Kentucky culture.  Standouts include “Commonwealth Curiosities Volume 1”, and “Volume 2”, “Between The Rock and the Commonwealth”, and most recent “Stages and Waves: An Excursion Through Challenging Times”, a film devoted to dealing with the arts during the COVID-19 pandemic. All projects can be seen on Kentucky Educational Television (KET) - Kentucky’s PBS affiliate. Steven writes original songs, provides lyrics, plays banjo, and harmonica, for the string band the New Beckham County Ramblers.
